4 Glossy Ibis at Cantley

I stopped off at Cantley Marshes on the way out to the coast to have a look at the 4 Glossy Ibis that had been found there a few hours earlier. There was no sign of the blaze at the beat factory that had been in the papers the previous day, but thankfully the Glossy Ibis were still present. They were a bit on the skittish side, but thankfully the 5 other birders on site when we arrived had the presence of mind to stay well back from the birds. After wandering around a small flood next to the farm they were at they went a little fly-about until they settled down and fed quite close to the footpath that we were watching them from. One of them had a darvic ring with '01N1' on it.
After that I headed out to the coast. The rain was quite heavy and there wasn't much moving, but a group of 9 male Northern Wheatears were my first spring migrants of the year, promising better times ahead.

Hi Andre,
Thanks for posting your comment. I see that the Glossy Ibises travelled 600km in one day!
